Thi Ngoc Lam Tran received the BSc in Physics Teacher Education at HCM University of Education in 2011 in Vietnam. She received the MSc in Physical Electronics from Vietnam National University - HCMC University of Natural Sciences in 2014. In 2019 she obtained her PhD degree from University of Trento in collaboration with National Research Council - Institute of Photonics and Nanotechnologies (CNR-IFN) in Trento, Italy. Afterwards, she spent three years working as a postdoc at CNR - IFN and Politecnico di Milano in Italy. Her researches focused on material synthesis and characterization of photonic structures based oxide semiconductors and transparent glass-ceramics, particularly activated by rare-earth ions. She is now a postdoc at the Photonics Research Group of Ghent University - Imec, working on integrated optical clocks.
